Holdrege, NE, April 6, 2017 – Charles “Chuck” David Christie, PA-C of Family Medical Specialties of Holdrege, Nebraska was awarded Physician Assistant of the Year at the 2017 Nebraska Academy of Physician Assistants conference on April 6, 2017. “[This award] is well deserved, and I cannot imagine another PA in the state that is more qualified to receive it,” stated Christie’s supervising Physician, William M. Sandy, M.D.

Chuck has served the community at Family Medical Specialties since 1998, and in this time has left an impression of respect and comradery among his patients and fellow providers. Kim Kirwan, Practice Manager at Family Medical Specialties stated, “Chuck is a very good provider with a strong patient base … He makes the patients feel like they are his only priority and takes the time to really listen to them.”

Outside of his work at Family Medical Specialties, Chuck has also dedicated nearly 10 years as the main care provider for Mosaic of Axtell, Nebraska (a facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities). His care and compassion for this population has not gone unnoticed. Connie Lans, PA-C stated, “[h]e is adored by the residents and staff of the facility … Chuck has found a way to really connect with them, they respect and respond to him very well.”

Prior to joining the community at Family Medical Specialties in 1998, Chuck worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha as a Laboratory Technician and Clinical Study Assistant (1995) and also served in the United States Air Force from 1982-1992 and the United States Navy from 1976-1980. His past experience shows in his advocacy for the Holdrege VA Clinic which serves military veterans in the Holdrege, Central Nebraska and North-Central Kansas areas.

In addition to practicing medicine in the community, Chuck spends time with his wife Sandra and their two children and stays active in the community by volunteering as a baseball coach, assisting with boy scouts and standing on the sidelines of High School sporting events to evaluate sport injuries.
