Amber Ackerson Appointed as CEO and Executive Director

ruralMED Management Resources is proud to announce the appointment of Amber Ackerson, J.D., as its new Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Director of the ruralMED Health Cooperative, L.C.A. Amber’s extensive background in rural health care and her proven track record in leadership make her the ideal candidate to guide our teams and partners towards achieving our strategic goals and vision for the future.

Amber’s dedication to rural health care is evident through her significant contributions in several initiatives, including the development and implementation of ruralMED’s Women’s Leadership Community Mentorship Program, providing Compliance Consulting and Training support services to rural healthcare facilities, participation in the Governor’s Task Force to address the workforce shortage in Nebraska, and speaking engagements with AHAM, CHI Rural Division, NIHIMA, Beckers, and individual hospitals.

Since March 2017, Amber Ackerson has demonstrated exceptional leadership capabilities in her tenure with ruralMED Management Resources, where she has served as In-house Counsel and Compliance. She has been instrumental in formulating strategic plans, devising growth strategies, and establishing service lines. During this time, she also held the position of General Counsel and Compliance Liaison for the ruralMED Health Cooperative, L.C.A.

Ackerson’s vast experience living and working in rural communities strengthens her passion and ability to guide our organizations into the future. Her previous roles include Senior Vice President/Human Capital/General Counsel/Corporate Secretary at Orthman Manufacturing, Inc., and General Practice at Heldt & McKeone Law Office, demonstrating her versatility and commitment to excellence.
