  • Possess 2 or more years of Human Resources experience (preferred).
  • Hold a two or four-year degree in Human Resources or a related discipline is preferred.

Hybrid Schedule Option

This position qualifies for a Hybrid schedule where, if desired, the employee will split time between working out of our Holdrege, NE office and working remotely.



Title: Human Resources Specialist

Department: Administration

Reports To: Human Resources Director / In-House Counsel

Supervises: None

Status: Full-Time (Non-Exempt)


Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Specialist will administer recruitment, orientation, training and performance evaluation programs at ruralMED Management Resources. Compliance with rules and regulations of all applicable federal, state and local laws as well as ruralMED policies is a condition of employment.


Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

• Two or four-year degree in Human Resources or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of two years human resources experience preferred.


General Requirements/Job Duties:

Incumbent must have the skills, ability and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:

  1. Collaborates with leaders, marketing and Human Resources Director to recruit, interview and hire needed staff.
    1. Develops and implements programs and procedures to optimally support new team members during their initial 90 days including onboarding and orientation.
  2. Assists in and serves as a back-up for payroll processing.
  3. Manages new hire and annual re-education process.
  4. Collaborates with leaders to develop role-specific orientation, ongoing training and competency evaluation.
  5. Collaborates with leaders to manage the performance evaluation process and make recommendations regarding process improvement.
  6. Responsible for the maintenance of all employee information on Human Resources systems. Enters new hire and termination information and employee changes.
  7. Creates reports as needed to support the needs of administration.
  8. Provides research and assistance in the development of employment-related forms and procedures to maximize accuracy and efficiency.
  9. Supports the leaves of absence process and prepares related documents/correspondence.
  10. Prepares employee separation and other sensitive documentation.
  11. Assists in the administration of company-sponsored benefit programs. Collaborates with Human Resources Director and benefits representatives to educate employees about the company’s benefits program and enroll eligible employees in these plans/programs.
  12. Responsible for the maintenance of HR and Benefits files.
  13. Assists in investigation and management of employee relations issues (terminations, performance and leave issues).
  14. Provides support and guidance to leaders and employees on the full range of HR policies and practices including performance management and disciplinary process.
  15. Performs prompt, comprehensive and fair investigations and prepares accurate written reports of findings.
  16. Participates in annual review/update of the Employee Handbook to reflect current workplace policies and procedures.
  17. Assists in developing and implementing progressive programs and processes that promote employee welfare and position ruralMED as the employer of choice.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.
